Citizens' Watch on the Reconstruction of the Bankerohan Bridge in Davao City, Philippines
1 comment:
Bankerohan Bridge Reconstruction is way ahead of schedule.
As of March 13, 2008, accomplishment of the Bankerohan Bridge I reconstruction has reached 41%, compared to the over 6 to 10% target output in the work plan.
Work on-site is speeding up the erection of bored piles of piers 1,2,3,4 and 5, with Piers 1,2,3 "A" and "B" already done. Steel casings are being driven into Piers 4 and 5.
At the same time pouring of the three bored piles at the northern abutment (Bankerohan Side)was completed this week. In a couple of weeks work will start on the southern abutment.
Simultaneous activities are also done in the staging area at the Agro Industrial School grounds, where Steel frames and other fabrications are done.
Some sectors doubt that the bridge will be done by August 2008, but DPWH officials are confident that it could be done even earlier than scheduled.
The contractor Ciriaco Corporation had been working 24/7 since January 2008.
Meanwhile, RD Jerome dela Rosa was happy to announce that the request to transfer the implementation of the bridge reconstruction from the DPWH-Bureau of Construction to DPWH Xi Regional Office was granted by Sec. Hermogenes Ebdane, Jr. The approval was given last February 2008 but the turn-over was only made last March 5, 2008.
